Abstract

An educational building represents a physical unit, or asset, within faculties of engineering. An architectural department building, being part of an educational organization, should support students' and users' activities, as most of their daily activities happen inside faculty buildings and the surrounding urban contexts. The assessment purpose is to measure the performance of the faculty buildings while fulfilling the original function for which they have been designed, in relation to the fulfillment of users' requirements. This is achieved through an assessment survey; where the result will ensure better design development for governmental faculties of engineering in Egypt, especially the architectural department buildings. The approach depends on measurement parameters to analyze records of performance for current buildings; then suggest an architectural design development scheme that enhances both the educational process and the future performance of the
buildings.
