Geocell is a three-dimensional cellular confinement system, used to stabilize foundations by reducing settlement and increasing bearing capacity. This paper presents alaboratory study to investigate inclusion of high-density Polymer–Polyethylene geocell as a reinforcement material in soil under footing which carrying vertical loads. The actual behaviour of soil reinforced with geocell under different load conditions has been investigated in this research. It has been found that pressure-settlement characteristics are improved owing to inclusion of geocell as reinforcement system.
