Improving the Quality of Life in Slums “Case Study: Jabal Al-Sharashef Neighborhood in Makkah Al-Mukarramah | تحسين جودة الحياة في الأحياء العشوائية "حالة دراسية: حي جبل الشراشف بمكة المكرمة"

Within the framework of the growing global and local interest in the issue of quality of life in cities, especially those related to the development and improvement of slum areas that are of urban and environmental sensitivity, the research addresses "Jabal Al-Sharashef neighborhood in Makkah Al-Mukarramah" as a model for analysis, evaluation and study. This neighborhood was chosen due to its spatial importance and its location within the central area surrounding the Grand Mosque. The study area also receives the attention of the Secretariat of the Holy Capital within a group of development projects in the city of Makkah Al-Mukarramah. The research discusses the current situation of the study area, its development proposals and frameworks for improving the quality of life within the integrated urban system of the central area. Based on this, the research aims to spatially analyze the current situation of the Jabal Al-Sharashef neighborhood area and evaluate its master plans and frameworks for activating and participating in quality of life standards in such development projects. To achieve the research objective, the study includes five main parts: the first: the introduction and the general framework of the research components and stages of its preparation. The second part: includes a background presentation on the stages of development of quality of life and the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to achieve it. The third part: includes the quality of life standards that can be applied in slum areas. The fourth part includes a public opinion survey for the study area "Jabal Al-Sharashef neighborhood" and a presentation of the survey results. The fifth part: includes an analysis of the current situation and the proposed plan for Jabal Al-Sharashef neighborhood based on quality of life standards. The research concluded the necessity of reviewing quality of life standards and the degree of their achievement in slum areas. By applying quality of life standards in stages before starting the implementation process, and the importance of monitoring and follow-up after operation to ensure the continuity of quality of life and gradually raising its levels. By applying quality of life standards in the stages of development projects, sustainable development is achieved in general and our cities become ecological and sustainable and provide comfort for their visitors and residents.
 
 
في اطار تنامي الاهتمام العالمي وا لمحلي بموضوع جودة الحياة في المدن، وبخاصة تلك المتعلقة بتطوير وتحسين المناطق العشوائية التي تحظى بحساسية عمرانية و بيئية، يتناول البحث "حي جبل الشراشف بمكة المكرمة" ليكون نموذج للتحليل والتقييم والدراسة. وقد اختير هذا الحي نظرا لأهميته المكانية ووقوعه ضمن المنطقة المركزية المحيطة بالحرم المكي الشريف، كما تحظى منطقة الدراسة باهتمام أمانة العاصمة المقدسة ضمن مجموعة من مشروعات التطوير بمدينة مكة المكرمة. ويناقش البحث الوضع الراهن لمنطقة الدراسة والمقترحات التطويرية لها وأطر تحسين جودة الحياة بها ضمن المنظومة العمرانية المتكاملة للمنطقة المركزية. و انطلاقا من ذلك يهدف البحث الى التحليل المكاني للوضع الراهن لمنطقة حي جبل الشراشف وتقييم للمخططات التوجيهية لها وأطر تفعيل ومشاركة معايير جودة الحياة في مثل هذه المشروعات التنموية . ولتحقيق هدف البحث تتضمن الدراسة خمسة أجزاء رئيسية أولها: المدخل والاطار العام لمكونات البحث ومراحل اعداده، والجزء الثاني: يتضمن عرض خلفية عن مراحل تطور جودة الحياة، وجهود المملكة العربية السعودية في تحقيقها، والجزء الثالث: يتضمن معايير جودة الحياة التي يمكن تطبيقها في المناطق العشوائية، ويتضمن الجزء الرابع استقصاء الرأي العام لمنطقة الدراسة "حي جبل الشرشف" وعرض لنتائج االستبيان. والجزء الخامس: يتضمن تحليل الوضع الحالي والمخطط المقترح لحي جبل الشراشف معتمدا على معايير جودة الحياة. وقد توصل البحث الى ضرورة مراجعة معايير جودة الحياة ودرجة تحقيقها في المناطق العشوائية. وبتطبيق معايير جودة الحياة في مراحل قبل البدء في عملية التنفيذ، واهمية المراقبة والمتابعة بعد التشغيل ضمانا الستمرارية جودة الحياة ورفع مستوياتها تدريجيا. وبتطبيق معايير جودة الحياة فى مراحل المشروعات التنموية تتحقق التنمية المستدامة بشكل عام وتصبح مدننا ايكولوجية ومستدامة وتوفر سبل الراحة لروادها وساكنيها.
